Italian week-7 days with Italian restaurants in London ๐Ÿด๐Ÿท๐Ÿ• ๐Ÿ‡ฎ๐Ÿ‡น

London is a place with the food from all around the world. Italian cuisine is known everywhere and probably everyone at least once has tried pasta or pizza. I have the funny feeling everywhere I go I can actually see Italian restaurants and coffee shops. It shouldn`t suprise me because Italian food is really tasty. Let`s see if everywhere. 7 days and 7different places. Let`s get started ๐Ÿ™‚

DAY 1

ZIZZI

The restaurant looks really good. I was very excited to order my food in there. They have really nice elegant style and you feel like you are in a special place. I would say little Italy. I ordered my pasta (Spaghetti Carbonara) and brownie. I was really hungry that time thinking that a nice plate of pasta would be great. I was really surprised when the waiter brought me a huge plate with only tiny bit of pasta in there. At the beginning I thought maybe it was only me who didn`t get that much but actually looking around answered my question. Everyone had very small portion on their plates and honestly I think it would be ideal for…a kid. I finished my plate being still hungry. For the price they offer which is not the cheapest one it should be slightly bigger. Considering the size as well as the price my pasta and dessert should be amazing but… it wasn`t. Just normal carbonara and normal brownie which you can get anywhere. I was really disappointed especially because I had good expectations looking at the restaurant and checking photos of the food online. There is this famous saying: `don`t judge the book by its cover` and it`s so true. In my opinion the food is on the average.

DAY 2

FRANCO MANCA

When you like pizza that`s the place for you. The quality of pizza is amazing. Everything fresh and delicious. You can even see the process of making pizza because the place is visible to everyone in the pizzeria. I was really impressed seeing a worker who needed only around 30 seconds to make a pizza dough ready. It was like a show because he could throw the dough in the air flipping it at the same time and the pizza dough could land in a very right place. That was really amazing. What`s the other great thing about this place is price range. You won`t find anything for more than ยฃ8 (maybe whole bottle of wine). When you check menu don`t be suprise having only few positions to choose from ( up to 10 I think). Don`t expect any kind of pasta or risotto. Nothing like that. I always have a big problem with deciding which food I want to have. Franco Manca makes it so much easier and I don`t need to be worried about it. I think it`s much better when someone concentrates on quality rather than quantity. You can order a cake or ice cream for pudding however I did not like my tiramisu. Pizza was amazing but dessert nothing special I am afraid. Anyway great place to go.

DAY 3

MASCALZONE

It`s not the chain of big restaurants spreaded everywhere but a lovely Italian place which can only be found in 2 countries: UK, London: Putney or Edgware and USA, Houston: West Houston or Shepherd. Italian music, Italian people, Italian food, Italian atmosphere. Just perfect. I loved the pizza from there and it was actually the first time I tried Calzone. It looked like a huge dumpling which made me laugh a lot. Pizza folded in a half with loooooots of cheese inside. Yuuum! Not expensive and delicious what`s the most important when it comes to majority of people. Definitely me. I think it`s not a great deal when you spend lots of money just to get good food. What I appreciate much more is when I pay normal price and my food is still great. Having ice cream in Mascalzone sent me to the other dimension. I have never tried such a creamy ice cream before. The consistency and flavour were just perfect. That`s why I love places like that because they are simply unique.

DAY 4

STRADA

I think it`s my favourite restaurant so far when it comes to Italian food. Very stylish with the nice simplicity. I love the food every time I go there. You can choose something from menu separately or the special offers with great price for 2 or 3 courses. I decided to check the offer if the food is ok. Normally when something is too cheap or too attractive can be a bad quality or not so popular choice among customers. I had starter main and dessert and… everything was delicious.

1493314837749.jpgI was really full after eating all of that but honestly I wouldn`t mind having something else ( it was so good). I paid only few money and the food didn`t taste any worse or different. Very satisfactory and very yummy.

DAY5

JAMIE`S ITALIAN

Honestly I don`t know why this restaurant is so popular. It doesn`t taste great at all so I don`t really understand its popularity. Jamie Oliver British cook known worldwide gives a great expectations for people who go there. I would say especially Italian people who hopeย that finding proper Italian food outside Italy is actually possible. I am afraid not in that case. With all the respect to Jaime Oliver who is undoubtedly aย wonderful cook I need to say the restaurant is suprisingly bad. My `tortellini con carne di vitello` wasn`t as perfect as I thought. I also went to the other restaurant called: Jamie`s Oliver Dinner. It`s not Italian cuisine but I thought it would be great to try something different from the same chain. I took a burger hoping that this time would be better but unfortunately the same impression. My burger was horrible. The bun was very chewy and dry so I don`t really know how long they kept it for in there. In both cases my experience was quite disappointing so I am not going to repeat it anymore. For me only fame and nothing more.

DAY 6

BELLA ITALIA

1493315106631.jpg

As I have heard many opinions it is considered to be a really good Italian restaurant. Either I wasn`t lucky that time or the restaurant is not as good as people say. I really fancied pasta that time so I decided to have Carbonara. I was waiting for it around 30 mins not really getting why so long. Once I got it I saw my pasta looking really funny. Some bits were really dry and it looked like my plate was left on the side and maybe someone forgot to actually bring it to my table. I started eating but my pasta was overcooked. I couldn`t believe that because I spent so much time waiting for my food just to get super soft and disgusting pasta. I called the waitress to change it explaining all the situation so after a while I got a pizza.

1493314987805.jpgI didn`t want to order pasta any more because I was afraid I will have same problem. Having pizza was safe and quick option because I was really hungry after such a long time. My pizza was really nice and I liked the way it was served. Despite the experience I had in that place I won`t cross it out from list as I will give it a second chance in a different place. I am really curious how is the pasta and I really hope they won`t overcook it again.

DAY 7

FRATELLI LA BUFALA

1493311380119

Super tasty Neapolitan pizza and much much more. The place was huge and full of people what made me think that people like coming there. I love pizzas and pastas so it`s always my first choice. That time was the same. They had lots of things to choose from the menu however I really wanted to try pizza. This place was really recommended by my Italian friend so I thought it must be really good and… it was. The pizza was super tasty. Very thin dough and lots of toppings on the top. It was like a soft pizza with I could say proper Italian ingredients. The cheese was delicious and tomato base really flavourful. The next time I will try something different than pizza because I am pretty sure all the rest tastes amazingly good as well.

THE END ๐Ÿ™‚

My review is finished. Obviously depends what you like and what you don`t. That was my Italian week and very honest opinion. If you have any nice Italian restaurants to suggest please do. I am planning to check some more ๐Ÿ˜€

ย Weekend is approaching really soon ^^
